Replacement of Windows Server Generation 2012R2 and older

21 Aug 2023 | IT security

Even if the latest patches from Microsoft are always installed for the Windows servers you are using to protect your IT infrastructure – if you are still using servers of version 2012R2 or earlier, action is required.

Support for server version 2012R2 from Microsoft already ended in October 2018. From October 2023, no more updates will be provided, i.e. no new security updates will be released. We strongly recommend that companies that are still using the aforementioned version 2012R2 upgrade or replace all Windows Server 2012R2 to the latest Microsoft server operating system version 2022 now – in order to ensure the continued high security and availability of your systems.
